Catching Louis Vuitton in Orchard Road

On the night of my regular monthly errand and after completing my transaction at the Lucky Plaza, I did not immediately went home but decided to stay for awhile and laze around in the vicinity. I chose the spot fronting the Tangs Mall just behind the underpass entryway to the mrt. There I stood pretending I was waiting for someone. I don't usually do this kind of thing but that night was an exception just to broke the monotony of the usual. I ended up people watching and proved to be engaging. A couple Caucasian tourist were taking their pictures in front of the mall unmindful of their audience who are group of local students trying to make fun of the couple's behavior. A couple popping cigarette and trying to outdo each other by blowing the smoke the farthest. But what struck me was this young couple pitting right close near to where I stand, and we're not even in a crowded place. Was I being enticed by this couple to join them later? This question crossed my mind only after they left, talking about slow clue getter.

After they left, my attention was diverted to what's going on at the other side of the road. From where I stood, it appears to me that the Louis Vuitton store in the soon to open Ion Orchard mall has been launched. I got curious to what going on, I crossed street and seated in one of the bench nearby. It was a glitzy affair, the guests must be the who's who in high society, were wearing all black ensemble, and one by one being photographed infront of a wall bearing the store name and logo similar to a oscar award night, though I have not recognized any one in the crowd. This Louis Vuitton store is the biggest store in Southeast Asia, and the store exterior feature a custom-made curved glass facade inspired by the 'folds of a scarf' which is attached on the ceiling so it appears to be hanging, truly a unique one.

The Ion Orchard mall will soon to open later this month, and judging from the high end store names plastered on the facade, this mall will definitely stand out among the existing ones along this shopping strip. Another feather for Orchard Road, being synonymous with shopping. Tourist brochures refer to it as the "Fifth Avenue, the Regent Street, the Champs Elysées, the Via Veneto and the Ginza of Singapore". Huge malls selling everything you can imagine line the road.

But at present the whole stretch of Orchard road is undergoing enhancement works. These works will be completed maybe before the year end, so its not really enjoyable to leisurely stroll at this time. Part of this enhancement, were these glass installations along the sidewalk which looks nice at night with all the neon lights attached to it, but would it be safe to have it in a crowded sidewalk?

While inside the mrt on my way home, I still into it, the people watching. What caption can you make with this picture?

Why I cannot post pictures in Blogger?

When I add pictures from my computer, I can upload it and image appears after that, but after I click the button done nothing appears on my post page.

Why is this?

*****

Its been days that I cannot post pictures on my blog. That's why I decided to post this question to solicit some answers and hoping someone can help me. At the same time I am searching the world wide web to look for the answer to this problem. But it seems I am the only one having this problem and no one have experience this before. Though I read similar queries from the forums I have visited, no replies has been posted so far. As Sherwin of Mokong (Anu'ng Nasa Isip ko) blog suggested, I checked the setting preferences and looked for the clue that might help me find the answer. After few times manipulating and clicking, answer was nowhere to find, lol (thanks anyway tol)

Then I resorted to finding the answer on my own. I checked if I have exceeded the alloted amount of pictures to be posted. The photos that are uploaded through blogger get stored in the picasa web albums. I am using the Picasa web album to store my pictures and little did I knew that it filled up space too. I have so far occupied 33% of the alloted space and 75% of this for my stored pictures. I decided to delete all the pictures I have stored instead of the option to upgrade my quota storage, so it now reduce to 12% . But this also did not solve my problem. I still cannot post pictures after few tries with time interval.

My last resort was to reset the template and be prepared for the consequences of redoing all the items I have modified. Obviously it worked. Now I can post pictures once again.

Up to now, I don't have a clue what was the cause of the problem. Can someone speak up or forever I will be in dumb amazement.

Minding other's business

This morning while riding on a bus going to work, I seated in the rear end of the bus. Unknowingly I was seated behind a kabayan who was busy fondling his nokia phone. I thought he was just playing or something until I become curious and after few minutes, gave in and dunked over to peep what he was doing. He was reading one by one all the text messages stored on his phone. Guess from where all the messages came from? Yes from his girlfriend or someone registered in his phonebook as baby. I got curious and carried away so it’s like we were reading it together. What made me hooked reading with him was the way the text messages has been exchanged. Apparently his baby was nagging him on something that she was asking for, an assurance from him the things like ‘you are there and I am here’ scenarios. What struck me was the lady’s varied messages, some I find hilarious, well in my point of view but it was composed in serious monotone. What struck me more was that the guy seems enjoyed reading them, well so as I suspected. I can’t imagine that she can come up all those messages, because looking at the guy, he seems does not fit to his baby's insinuations.

One word come up to my mind: suspicion. In a long distance relationship, there suppose to be no room for suspicion. In order for you two to survive distance relationship, you must learn to trust your partner whole heartedly. A single suspicion will break the bond you have for each other and it is a beginning of the end if you start to suspect your partner at any point of your long distance relationship.

And what are these text messages which I find hilarious, you would ask? Better not.

My voyeurism caused me to miss the bus stop and a 10 minutes late time.

How did Michael Jackson die?

Michael Jackson is dead at age 50.

On the day the news broke out, it was reported that he was found in presumed cardiac arrest after a 911 call was made from his rented home at Holmby Hills in Los Angeles. Before he was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center where he died, Jackson's personal physician was with him and tried to resuscitate him for more than one hour but were unsuccessful before he was rushed to the hospital where he died. He was declared dead at 2.26pm Los Angeles time.

There are reports that he was rehearsing for a new show, opening in London next month, and had undergone a thorough and complete physical exam. He apparently was given a clean bill of health. He was secretly rehearsing six hours a day and four days a week.

And how about reports that he is addicted to painkillers which develops after he was burned while filming a commercial in 1984.

Then this report that a family attorney mentioned about his concern for Jackson's use of prescription drugs for dancing-related injuries could eventually prove fatal and that the entertainer's inner circle has ignoring his warnings.

How about the pressures of emotional, physical, legal, financial, and spiritual dysfunction that has been with him ever since? Had this already caught up Mr. Jackson? Its a toxic mix that nobody can withstand.

There's no doubt that more information will be reported in the coming days to weeks, even illicit drugs might also come out no doubt. But keep in mind that sudden cardiac death can happen at any age, in seemingly healthy individuals.

Whatever the circumstances, there's no doubt that Michael Jackson will be greatly missed.
