Last Saturday I came to check this year Singapore
River Festival lineup. The Singapore River Festival is an annual event within and along the river. This year there
were three activities being held at three quays, the LED kite flying at Clarke
Quay, the movie night under the stars at Robertson Quay, and the first time
Regatta Rumble at Boat Quay.
Clark Quay
I managed to witness only the shows at the Clark and Boat quays. First
one was the led kite flying being held at Clarke Quay just outside the Central Mall
ground. 20 lighted kites dances up in the river skyline being played by men and
women that may belong to a group as they wearing uniform.
Later a two-man acrobats The Annoying Brothers show
their act with humor at the expense of one audience who play along with their
joke on him. It was umm fun and yeah a bit annoying hearing them talking while
performing circus acts.
Boat Quay
The event held in Boat Quay was the dragon boat race
coined The Regatta Rumble at Boat Quay. The event actually start at 4:00 in the
afternoon and to be ended at 10:00 pm. There were 200 teams participated and my
company’s dragon boat racers participated. There is a post-race River Street
Party that goes late into the night that capped up the event.
Clarke Quay Fountain Square
The rave party was held here. A dance party that is
ticketed. There is an cave like wall behind the disc jockey that serves as a
bounce wall of artistic light projection and bounce back to the dance floor and
the party goers.
If you were not able to catch this year’s Singapore
River Festival there is always next year. Clark Quay is just outside of Clarke
Quay mrt station and Boat Quay nearest mrt is Raffles Place station.
